Significant Progress on the Development of Covalent Organic Frameworks-Based Solid-Phase Microextraction Probe
Rapid, sensitive, and accurate analysis of trace environmental pollutants is urgently required in the field of environmental analytical chemistry. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a series of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) widespread in environment and organism, and they have been concerned widely by both health authorities and public due to their hepatotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, and potential carcinogenicity. Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) are the two most widely used PFASs that have been designated as target chemicals for regulation by the Stockholm Convention on POPs. It is necessary to monitor the contents and compositions of PFASs in environmental and biological media for understanding their environmental behaviors and toxic effects.

Multidrug‐Resistant Proteus mirabilis isolates carrying blaOXA‐1 and blaNDM‐1 from wildlife in China
Microbial pathogen ecology research Group from the Wildlife Diseases and Immunology Research Center, Institute of zoology, Guangdong Academy of Sciences, conducted research on Proteus mirabilis isolated from wild animals from Shanghai Zoo, hospital, Zhengzhou zoo and illegal trafficking, and found that wild animals carried important multidrug-resistant genes blaOXA-1 and blaNDM-1. Mixed-species bird flocks (MSF) are defined as “groups of two or more species that move and forage together”. MSFs are widely acknowledged to increase predator avoidance and foraging efficiency, and thereby increase participants’ fitness, which were often used to investigate community structure of birds. The mechanisms of community assembly suggest that biotic and abiotic filters constrain species establishment through selection on their functional traits, but it is unclear how differences in traits influence the niche dimensions of closely related bird species when they coexist in spatiotemporally heterogeneous environments.
