Belarusian Consulate General Guangzhou and Great Stone visit GDAS

  On November 10th, a delegation led by Andrei Popov, Consul General at the Consulate General of Belarus in Guangzhou and YAN Gang, General Manager of Great Stone China-Belarus Industrial Park Co., Ltd. visited GDAS. GDAS Vice President LI Dingqiang welcomed the group. The two sides have exchanged ideas on the development of the newly-established China-Belarus Industrial Technology Innovation Center (CBITIC) and opportunities for collaboration.

  During the meeting, GDAS has shared its achievements of the past five years in enhancing technological innovation capabilities, accelerating technology commercialization, and promoting regional economic and social development, while Great Stone updated on the development of CBITIC. It has been pointed out that GDAS will spare no efforts in helping create a total-factor and dual-cycle innovation ecosystem for the center.

  Popov has pointed out that the Great Stone China-Belarus Industrial Park is a best practice example of regional economic development and a significant platform for Eurasian economic cooperation. CBITIC, a platform jointly built by GDAS and Belarusian Academy of Sciences, performs the important function of technology commercialization and is considered a priority by the Belarusian government.

  YAN has revealed that the Industrial Park, with the support of governments from both sides, has entered the phase of high-quality development. The inclusion of CBITIC is seen as a milestone, which is expected to serve as a demonstration of regional technological cooperation for China and Belarus and even for other countries along the “Belt and Road”. It is hoped that CBITIC will keep working with GDAS and contribute its part to the “Belt and Road” initiative.
